Alumni E-Newsletter
November 2005

NEW TO YOU!!!
There are some NEW faces in the Development office at SVC.  Karen Trubitt is the new Director of Development at Southern Vermont College and Erin McEnaney (Potter) ’01 is the Coordinator of Alumni Affairs.  If you have an interest in getting more involved in with the College, such as the
Alumni Association, please email Erin McEnaney or alumni@svc.edu .

With fresh faces come some fresh ideas of how we can better serve our Alumni.  For instance, you will be receiving monthly e-newsletters in your email in box, the Alumni Office is also looking to plan regional networking and social events for Alumni to get together, catch up on each other’s lives, and make connections that could lead to new careers.   Also, in the coming months you may notice that we will be freshening up the www.svcalumni.org site.  The biggest change will be the addition of CLASS NOTES.   If you have something that you would like to share with members of your class, please email us with your good news and we will be sure to post it on the Website.  These are just some of the things you can anticipate in the coming year.

Breakfast for Dinner
O
n Sunday, December 11, students will be eating breakfast for dinner.  Why should you care???? Well consider it an opportunity to see some of your old professors and catch up with staff members.  More importantly, this is a chance to meet and greet some current students as they are getting ready for Final Exams.  Late Night Breakfast began in the late 1990s and has evolved to be a stress reliever event for students.  The event date is Sunday, December 11 at 4:30pm-6:00pm.  Come out and serve breakfast for dinner to current students!!
If you are interested in helping serve or would just like to come and see old friends, please email Erin McEnaney so we know you are coming.  And…if you would like to re-visit the days of Cafeteria Food and eating breakfast for dinner, there will be plenty of food.  You can also call 802-447-6357 for reservation.

WBTN in the NEWS!
F
or those Alumni in the Southern Vermont College area, check out the November 2005 edition of The Observer (available at your local convenience store) which is featuring an article that speaks about WBTN, owned and operated by students and staff of Southern Vermont College, and other small radio stations.  The article, “Voices of the People:  Some small radio stations are out to save democracy”, talks about “community radio stations finding an under-the-radar niche.”  Sorry, this article is not available on-line.

 Athletics News

Everett Mansion and back to the Athletic Fields.
-YOGA on TUESDAY NIGHTS!  If you are living in the area of SVC and would like to have a peaceful few hours away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, come to Yoga class on Tuesday nights in the Athletic Complex.  Classes start at
4:45pm and end at 6:15pm.  Yoga will continue for four more weeks.
-The first season of MEN’S VOLLEYBALL will begin in the Spring.
-ALUMNI BASKETBALL GAME…the alumni game plan is underway.  Dust off the sneakers and join other alumni on the court.  More information to follow.
